The Lodge at Jamaica Point sits on the most panoramic site in Maine's entire Belgrade Lakes chain. It rests at the tip of Jamaica Point on Great Pond the largest of the Belgrade Lakes and the lake which playwright, Ernest Thompson, wrote about in "On Golden Pond." (During
your stay, you will see and hear the loons and have your morning
paper delivered by the mail boat during summer months.)
Do
not be misled by the term "pond." Great Pond is
a deep and large lake, about seven miles long and four miles wide
superb for boating, water skiing, tubing, canoeing, swimming
and fishing.

Two
of three calming lakeside hammocks dare guests to read books
while trying to stay awake from whoosh of water, swaying
of pine branches high above heads, and call of the loons.
