Sunrises,
sunsets and starry nights
The
lake
Extending
from the lodge site is a private grassy peninsula in the arm-like
shape of Cape Cod. The peninsula creates a calm, private
swimming and boat cove with a sandy beach area. For children,
the beach offers a gradual slope into the water, while older kids
and adults may dive from the boat docks. From the peninsula,
you have sweeping views of the lake and a heavenly spot to sun,
nap in hammocks, watch sunrises and sunsets and moon/star gaze.
Use our canoe and paddle boat and rent a motor boat from the marina
on the lake.
The
lake “climate”varies throughout the day. Generally,
mornings present a tranquil glass-like surface for canoeing.
Afternoon breezes bring wavy action. Stronger gales late
in the day often create ocean-like white caps. The lake
usually turns calm again to accommodate late-night boat rides.
Belgrade
Lakes offers much less boat traffic and much more tranquility
than Sebago, Winnipesaukee and other popular New England lakes.
The
lodge
Jamaica
Point Lodge and its wraparound porch offer panoramic views, looking
out at two islands and the heart of the lake. Sitting on
550 feet of lake frontage, the lodge is shrouded in towering pines
that offer a shady respite from the sunny peninsula. The
site's back acres are nicely wooded and divided by your private
gravel road.
