Getting to The Point

Located off Interstate 95, northwest of Augusta, the Belgrade Lakes region is less than 3 1/2 hours north of Boston and 90 minutes from Portland.  Airports exist at Portland and   Bangor (1 hour).

Once there

The Belgrade Lakes region offers greater tranquility and much less boat traffic than Maine's Sebago Lake and New Hampshire's Winnepesaukee.  Yet your pristine site is minutes from shopping, restaurants, movie theaters and activities in neighboring Oakland, Waterville, and Skowhegan.  The spectacular Belgrade Lakes Golf course – ranked one of the top-five public courses in the country – resides across the lake.

Boating from your private dock

Great Pond Marina, on the lake, rents most types of watercraft.  Reserve in advance: 207-495-2213.  (The Jamaican flag and red light atop your flag pole provide good home markers.)  Boat over to charming Belgrade Lakes Village for lunch, dinner, shopping, food for your afternoon barbecue or take-out sandwiches, subs, pizza, bagels and movie rentals.

Car, bike and hiking trips

The lodge is minutes from local lake lookouts with great views.  French's Mountain offers a short hike to pretty rock ledges and a great overlook spot for lunch and a bottle of wine.  Blueberry Hill, which you can drive up, also offers  panoramic lake views. Belgrade Lakes is about an hour-plus drive to Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine's rocky ocean coast and the quaint town of Belfast.
