ADDRESS:
The mailboat address of the lodge is c/o Steve Feldman, HCROO Box

during summer months, leaving from Belgrade Lakes Village. Mail
and post cards (of Belgrade Lakes) can be left for pickup at the
boatdock mailbox. Raise the red flag to indicate mail pickup.
BUG
AND BAT PREVENTION: Please
remember to keep window and door screens closed to keep out bugs
and bats. (Maine bats, by the way, are harmless and are a protected
species under Maine law. They are afraid of you and will always
fly to avoid you. Contrary to myths, bats are actually man's greatest
ally for their huge appetite for mosquitoes.) POOL
TABLE IN POOL ROOM:
Please keep children from attacking the felt. DRIVE
SLOW! When driving down the narrow gravel roads, drive slow for the safety of other persons who drive and walk the roads, and to minimize dust for year-round neighbors. Please exercise the same considerations when driving boats on the water. Travel wake speed between the Point and island to protect shoreline and loon nests. Jet skis must not exceed 5 miles per hour within 200 feet from shore.
SHOPPING
AND SERVICES
Food stores, restaurants and shopping are located in nearby Rome, Oakland and Waterville--about a 20 to 25-minute ride from The Point.
- Go out to end of Jamaica Point Road.
- Make a right onto Rte. 225. At end of road make a right and
then your next immediate left onto Rte. 137. Rte. 137 leads you
first into Oakland and then into Waterville. Crossing over Rte.
137 leads to a huge Shaw's 24-hour supermarket.
A second and third shopping mall with big food stores are on Main Street in Waterville. (Take Rte. 137 to Rte. 95 North. Main Street is your next exit.) For dinner you may boat over to The Village Inn, taking the stream to Belgrade Lakes Village, or bring your own wine for a four-course meal at Wing's Hill -- both in the village.
Restaurants are plentiful in Waterville off Main Street. The town of Skowhegan along the Kennebec River offers several decent restaurants. The ride to Skowhegan, particularly at sunset, is nice. From Jamaica Point Road, take a right onto Route 225 and a left onto Rte. 137. Go past Smithfield and the mountain/sunset views overlooking North Pond. Take 137 to Rte. 8 into Norridgewock and Rte. 2 into Skowhegan.
