We highly recommend that you and your summer guests consider taking a 20- or 30-minute spin over and around the Belgrade Lakes during your stay.

• Door-to-door service: Klaus, an excellent commercial pilot, pulls his float plane right into the lodge's cove. You don't even get your feet wet. From the sandy shore, just step onto one of the plane's pontoons and climb aboard.

• It's a blast taking off from, and landing on, the water.

• Spectacular lake views.

• Great photo opps out the plane windows. Station your friends and relatives waving from the Point itself as you buzz by.

• Affordable flights: $45 per person with a minimum of two people.
